The Falserhof: Farm holidays in Villanders – South Tyrol

For a holiday on the farm in the Eisack valley we offer you at the Falserhof above Villanders two apartments with an indescribable view. We, the family Sonja and Sepp Mayrhofer with our children Anna and Paul, manage a traditional farm with livestock production at an altitude of 1000 meters. Our farm is surrounded by meadows and orchards just one kilometer away from the village of Villanders. There you can shop, find a doctor, a bank or the post office. A relaxing holiday in one of our apartments is therefore nothing in the way. You can go directly from our farm or go for excursions into the whole, beautiful South Tyrol, starting from a quiet but central location.

For holidays on the farm with children we offer you many small and big attractions at the Falserhof. The largest is surely the mine in Villanders. It is an unforgettable experience for the children to take a guided tour of the old mine. At our farm the animals are, of course, a special delight for children. We have a playground as well as a room for the children, where they can play by bad weather.

For elder children, it is always a great pleasure to experience the fresh delicacies that we produce directly at the farm and which you can get for your breakfast with us.

Enjoy a farm in South Tyrol

The life on a South Tyrolean farm is now much easier with a car and machines than 50 or 100 years ago. But for our guests and especially their children, it is still impressive to experience what it means to be responsible for animals every day. A hay harvest or the arduous potato harvest gives you a completely different view of the food which for most of you come from the supermarket nowadays. Here in South Tyrol we are still very close to what we eat. For many children, this is an experience that is shaping life. During a holiday on the farm you can experience the seasons in South Tyrol

Every season has its own charm at the Falserhof near Villanders. In winter, the beautiful scenery all around makes you want to explore the surrounding area with cross-country skis, snowshoes or simply on the winter hiking trails. Due to its location on the south-eastern slope in the spring the snow disappears relatively soon in Villanders and first flowers and spring messengers invite to walks. Especially the plum blossom turns our area into a sea of flowers.

In the summer and autumn the Villanderer Alm and the surrounding mountain region are at your disposal for extended hikes and mountain tours. Of course there are also guided tours, if you like to join groups or get background information about nature, history or culture of beautiful South Tyrol. The summits of the Sarntal Alps are relatively easy to climb in our direction, because they fall flatter to the east than west to the Sarntal. They offer unbelievable views over the Eisack Valley to the Seiser Alm, the Dolomites and to the west, to the mighty three-thousanders of the Ötztal Alps.
